WWCRL: Cal Ripken House Rules - Revised for 2009 Season

Posted by Richard Grenier on Apr 22 2009 at 05:00PM PDT
1.  Pitchers can pitch six innings in one week (Sunday-Saturday).  One pitch in an inning constitutes one inning pitched.
2.  Starting Pitchers may re-enter a game provided they are not removed as a pitcher on the second visit of an inning
by a coach.
3.  If a pitcher pitches three or more innings, they need to have two complete days of rest.  Note:  If a pitcher pitched
three innings on Monday, they would not be able to pitch on Tuesday or Wednesday.
4.  Offense/Defense Swing Players:  Players, who are designated to "swing" the game, must alternate per inning and per at bat.
Defense:  Player A would play the odd inning (1,3,5) & Player B would play the even innings (2,4,6).
Offense:  Player A would bat up the "odd" numbered plate appearance & Player B would bat up the "even" numbered plate appearance.
5.  Managers have the option to either swing or "split" players.  If a manager decides to "split" players, each player will bat once &
play nine outs in the field … provided the game is six innings long.
6.  Extra Hitters do not swing/split.  They will bat the entire game.  A player can not EH two consecutive games in a row.
