Pedus leads WW past LaSalle, 7-6!
Led by the timely hitting of Josh Pedus and the relief pitching of Logan Dean, West Warwick edged LaSalle, 7-6, for their eighth victory of the summer.
Pedus, who earned All-Division honors this past spring, hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to give WWCM a 5-3 lead and hit a timely two-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the black and orange a 7-5 lead.
Logan Dean, who pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh, earned the save.
Offensively, West Warwick received help from Dom Carollo (2/3, one run scored and one rbi), Quinn Kortick (2/4, one run scored and one rbi), Pedus (2/4, one home run, one double, one run scored and three rbi’s), Logan Dean (1/2, one run scored), Dylan Provoyeur (one run scored), Nathan Hunt (1/3), Cameron Diffley (one run scored) and Zack Lawrence (1/1, one run scored and two walks).
With the win, West Warwick finished 8-6 on the year and will be the 5th seed in the upcoming Rhode Island Connie Mack playoffs.
